Now hiring: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Claiborne County, Tennessee. The job is in a sheet-metal fabrication unit. Day-to-day duties: • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size What we are looking for: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
