Tailor machinist wanted in Reading

Vacancy available: we are hiring a tailor machinist in Reading, England. You will be based in a sampling and tailoring workshop. You will inspect each piece for skipped stitches, broken thread and needle holes; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension. Requirements: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens 1+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
