Immediate opening: we are hiring a shuttering fixer in Leicestershire, England. The job is at a precast concrete yard. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long shifts • Knows de-shuttering times and concrete curing • Able to read formwork and structural drawings You will apply mould-release oil to the plywood faces before concreting; check alignment with spirit level, plumb bob and string line; box out openings for doors, windows and service penetrations; fix soldiers, walers and tie rods to resist the concrete pressure; cut and assemble plywood and timber panels for columns, beams and slabs; watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement. £2,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
