Crane rigger wanted in Howard County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a crane rigger in Howard County, Maryland. You will be based at a shipyard. Day to day you will attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles 5+ years on the tools preferred. Full-time with occasional weekends. Meals and transport allowance provided. We offer $5,000 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
