Machine operator (earthworks) • Sutter County, California

We are recruiting: we are hiring a machine operator (earthworks) in Sutter County, California. You will be based at a road and highway construction project. Ideal candidate: • Able to read drawings, setting-out pegs and level pegs • Confident working to fine grade and tight tolerances • Own PPE — safety boots, hi-vis and hard hat The role involves: • Clear sites, demolish structures and load out muck and rubble • Excavate trenches for water, sewer and cable runs • Carry out daily greasing and check hydraulic oil, coolant and fuel levels • Backfill trenches and compact the fill in layers • Work to laser, GPS or 2D/3D machine-control guidance • Keep the cab clean and oil-free and report defects promptly At least 5 year(s) in a similar role.
