Core maker • Putnam County, Ohio

We are recruiting: we are hiring a core maker in Putnam County, Ohio. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. Day-to-day duties: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
