Vacancy available: we are hiring a moulder in Iowa County, Iowa. You will be based in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Ideal candidate: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills On a typical shift you will pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
