Requirements: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances Day-to-day duties: • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges • Read the WPS and weld to the specified parameters • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job A stable, long-term role with a friendly crew.
