Now hiring: we are hiring a sample machinist in Union Parish, Louisiana. The job is on an export house sewing floor. Day to day you will clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift; attach collars, cuffs, plackets, pockets and waistbands as per the spec sheet; keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line; match notches and ply, lining up checks and stripes before stitching; set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers; change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation. Requirements: • Knows how to set tension, change needles and do basic machine maintenance • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
