Furnace operator — Leslie County

Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Leslie County, Kentucky. You will be based in the fettling and dressing shop. Day to day you will prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant. You should have: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts $4,600 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
