Join our team: we are hiring a brickwork mason in Whitman County, Washington. Day to day you will buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge; building the corners (leads) first and racking back the courses; raking out and tooling the joints to a struck or bucket-handle finish; checking every course for height and level with a gauge rod; spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel; building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working at height on scaffolding • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. $8,000 per project, negotiable for the right hands.
