Offshore rigger — Jasper County

We are recruiting: we are hiring an offshore rigger in Jasper County, Iowa. You will be based in a steel fabrication yard. On a typical shift you will select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads; coordinate tandem and multi-crane lifts with the signaller; direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; read lift plans and method statements before starting; inspect slings, shackles and eyebolts for wear, kinks and cracks before each use. Requirements: • Physically fit to handle heavy chains, slings and shackles • Able to inspect and reject defective lifting gear • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness Rotating shifts.
