Argon welding operator • Watauga County, North Carolina

Immediate opening: we are hiring an argon welding operator in Watauga County, North Carolina. The job is on a structural steel site. Day-to-day duties: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size • Select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel • Weld thin stainless steel sheet without burning through • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec You should have: • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection • 2+ years' hands-on experience with argon/TIG welding • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
