Vacancy available: shakeout operator (Kentucky)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Caldwell County, Kentucky. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. On the job you will handle: • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges What we are looking for: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal Performance bonus on top of base pay.
