Urgent requirement: we are hiring a halal butcher in Polk County, Texas. The job is in a supermarket meat department. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of halal slaughter and handling where required • Food hygiene / HACCP certificate Day to day you will portion steaks, chops and cutlets to the ordered weights; trim fat, sinew and silver skin off the cuts; debone shoulders, legs and loins with a boning knife; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; monitor chiller and freezer temperatures to keep the cold chain. 5+ years on the tools preferred.
