Immediate opening: foundry operative (Texas)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Hemphill County, Texas. You will work at a brass and bronze foundry. Day-to-day duties: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Six days a week, one day off.
