Foundry worker — Karnes County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a foundry worker in Karnes County, Texas. You will work in the fettling and dressing shop. Day-to-day duties: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
