Now hiring: we are hiring a foundry operative in Bexar County, Texas. You will be based in a non-ferrous casting shop. What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Your main tasks: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. We offer $2,700 per month plus benefits. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
