Die-casting operator — Davidson County

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a die-casting operator in Davidson County, North Carolina. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. Ideal candidate: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Basic grinding and fettling skills $210 per day, negotiable for the right hands. Full-time, day shift.
