Sand plant operator — Lawrence County

Immediate opening: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Lawrence County, Indiana. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Basic grinding and fettling skills Your main tasks: • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
