Sheet metal welder — Wallowa County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Wallowa County, Oregon. The job is at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. You should have: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work Your main tasks: • Back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • TIG weld aluminium sections after cleaning off the oxide layer • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size At least 3 year(s) in a similar role.
