Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety On a typical shift you will strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; select AC for aluminium and DC for stainless and mild steel; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; back-purge pipe joints with argon so the root does not oxidise. 6+ years on the tools preferred.
