Trainee butcher wanted in Solano County

Now hiring: we are hiring a trainee butcher in Solano County, California. You will work at an abattoir or slaughterhouse. On a typical shift you will take customer orders and advise on cuts and cooking; sharpen and hone knives on a steel and whetstone; break down beef, mutton and chicken carcasses into primal cuts; keep halal cuts separated and clearly handled; run the band saw to cut cleanly through bone; season and marinate meat on request. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit to lift carcasses and stand all day • Comfortable working in cold rooms and chillers • Clean, presentable and friendly at the counter Pay around $4,800 per month, based on your experience. Performance bonus on top of base pay. Rotating shifts. Walk-in interviews this week.
