Tiling assistant • Saratoga County, New York

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tiling assistant in Saratoga County, New York. What we are looking for: • Knowledge of waterproofing and substrate preparation • Able to read setting-out drawings and tile layouts • Work neatly with minimal tile wastage The role involves: • Make curved cuts and holes with an angle grinder and tile drill bits • Mix tile adhesive and cement mortar to the right consistency • Spread adhesive with a notched trowel and back-butter the tiles • Screed and prepare uneven floors before tiling • Set out mosaic sheets and trim them to fit the edges • Fit skirting tiles, step nosings and external corner trims Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
