Now hiring: we are hiring a pressman in Haskell County, Texas. The job is in a busy laundry. Requirements: • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine The role involves: • Set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics • Meet the daily piece target without damaging garments • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Check every piece for scorch marks, shine and water spots • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
